What your kid is actually doing here
Pixel Arcade Club lets kids describe a game idea in their own words and watch AI build it into something they can actually play — then tweak the numbers behind it to learn how code works. Here's what that means for you.
How billing works
Right now Pixel Arcade Club is free while we test with a small group of friends and family — no card required, nothing to cancel. If that changes, membership would be billed to your email, not your kid's login, and you'd hear about it before anything was charged.
How your kid is kept safe
- Invite-only — nobody signs up without a link from someone they know.
- Every game description a kid submits is checked before it reaches the AI — content outside kid-appropriate bounds gets blocked at that point.
- Nothing appears in the shared arcade for other kids to play until a real person on our side has reviewed it and approved it.
- There's no chat or messaging between kids anywhere in the app.
- Every generated game gets a clickable “how to play” screen and works with keyboard, touch, or a controller — built for a kid to pick up without help.
What they can actually do
- Describe a game idea and get a playable version back in under a minute.
- Tweak the game's own numbers — how fast something moves, how many enemies spawn — as a first, hands-on coding lesson.
- Build a personal library of everything they've made.
- Play anything other kids have published to the shared arcade, once it's approved.
Checking in on them
There's no separate parent login yet — the simplest way to see what they've built is to sit with them and look at their library together, the same way you would with a school exercise book. If that's something you'd want as its own feature, tell us — it helps us prioritise.
